With a floor plan spanning over 3 million square feet, performing interior construction during winter in the Midwest can prove challenging. The general contractors on this project had previously been using a standard heater line that they typically use on other projects, with limited success. Given the massive scale of this building, traditional heaters were not delivering the temperatures desired, nor were they pushing heat to the interior of the building.
Constructing a dam with more than two million cubic meters of concrete requires a massive effort of manpower and equipment. Year after year as the project continued, Cahill became more essential to the success of this project than ever imagined.
When building a multi-story building with 100,000 square foot floors, a powerful heater is needed to deliver heat across such a large space. The general contractor for this project relied on a past rental heater they had used on other projects, but it did not get the results they needed. Following weeks of heat not reaching the upper floors from low static pressure, the GC was concerned when temperature requirements were not met and the project schedule was threatened due to interior finish work falling behind.
Wisconsin – An industrial painting company undertaking the first phase of an interior tank painting project enlisted REIC Specialty to manage climate control. With a diameter exceeding 200 feet and a floating ceiling, the tank required surface blasting and steel preparation ahead of the industrial paint application in phase two.
Connecticut – As fall and winter approached, the contractor overseeing the construction of a new university building recognized the urgent need for climate control. With concerns about worker safety, protecting building materials, and maintaining the construction schedule, colder weather posed significant risks, including missed deadlines. Heating the site was essential to mitigating these challenges.
Connecticut – As the colder fall months settled in, outdoor work became increasingly challenging—especially for the construction of a multi-story building. Recognizing the risk of slowed progress and worker safety concerns, a New England contractor returned to REIC Specialty for a customized heating solution tailored to the project’s needs.
