Midwest, USA – With a floor plan spanning over 3 million square feet, performing interior construction during winter in the Midwest can prove challenging. The general contractors on this project had previously been using a standard heater line that they typically use on other projects, with limited success. Given the massive scale of this building, traditional heaters were not delivering the temperatures desired, nor were they pushing heat to the interior of the building.

Heater Demonstration Delivers

After some initial conversations, a Jet Heater was brought to the job site and tested. Setting the unit at the exterior of the building, the heater was put to a test. With temporary ducting stretching over a hundred feet inside the building, the contractors were highly impressed when the temperatures at the outlet exceeded their wishes. Additionally, the static pressure a hundred + feet away from the heater sitting outside was enough to convince the team to make the switch.

Delivery, Safety and Setup

Within one week of the demonstration of one Jet Heater, twenty-nine (29) Jet Heaters surrounded the building. Following safety training and job site initiation, a team of technicians from REIC were on site to perform setup and startup of the units, with no reported issues. All units sat at the exterior of the building, delivering heating through temporary openings and running hot air through ducting to various points throughout the interior.

Jet Heat Impresses a Second Time

A few days after the setup of the Jet Heaters, an incredible cold snap came through and the Jet Heaters helped maintain the sought after interior temperatures. Despite the large number of heaters on site, there were still areas under construction that weren’t controlled. Given the importance of the project and the severity of Midwest winters, the contractor requested an additional twelve (12) Jet Heaters to be delivered, bringing the total to forty one (41) total heaters on rent. As part of the agreement from the outset, REIC has a technician on site during all work hours, and available 24/7 for any issues with the heaters. The project began in the fall and is scheduled to run through winter, into the spring.
