Jet Heat Maintains Ideal Conditions On Highest Floors For Wood Framing On Construction Project

Texas – When building a multi-story building with 100,000 square foot floors, a powerful heater is needed to deliver heat across such a large space. The general contractor for this project relied on a past rental heater they had used on other projects, but it did not get the results they needed. Following weeks of heat not reaching the upper floors from low static pressure, the GC was concerned when temperature requirements were not met and the project schedule was threatened due to interior finish work falling behind.

Memorable Heating Solution

Remembering the Cahill Jet Heaters from a previous project, the project superintendent reached out to Cahill for help. Responding immediately, Cahill had 4 Jet Heaters delivered, setup and quickly operational. Once running, not only did the Jet Heaters provide the temperatures that the project specified, but the powerful static pressure of the Jet Heater easily delivered heating across floors on the 3rd and 4th story, where the previous heaters couldn’t control conditions at all.

Proving the Power Jet Heaters

Following the initial success of the Jet Heaters, the construction contractor quickly called with a request for an additional four units on another building. The combination of the high temperatures and static pressure allowed these units to sit outside the buildings, using temporary ducting and poly-tubing to distribute to all areas of the building. Because of the wood framing and millwork on the interior, maintaining temperatures was critical. The Jet Heaters achieved the project specifications effortlessly

Total Climate Control & Lighting

The Jet Heaters were on site from January through the spring, when Cahill was asked to provide the summer conditioning inside the building. During the spring and summer months, Cahill delivered a combination of cooling and dehumidification to maintain specified dew points. The following winter, the contractor did not attempt an alternative, choosing Cahill from the outset. Before the cold weather arrived, the request was made for the Jet Heaters to be on site for the duration of the winter. In addition to climate control, the contractor also chose our solar-hybrid light towers for all project lighting. The combination of low-labor requirements and fuel savings were too attractive to pass up.
