Resurfacing an outdoor area that experiences constant rainfall and humidity levels approaching 90% is guaranteed to have moisture-related challenges. Sitting on water, this US Naval Aircraft Carrier needed climate control experts to provide specific humidity and temperature conditions to resurface the ‘non-skid’ surface of the flight deck.

Our Approach

With the goal of delivering climate control with a set number of air changes per hour quickly and effectively, our team deployed a mixture of heaters, desiccant dehumidifiers, and dust collectors. This combination of equipment offered total climate control combating the consistent cold, wet ambient conditions, and temperature and humidity challenges. With our solutions, the contractor could deliver the application of the non-skid material on schedule.

I wish we had used Cahill’s flameless heaters all along. The Jet Heat Heater is absolutely, without a doubt, a brilliant heater. They have 20″ of static pressure, and you can run duct 500′ with this pressure. We rented 13 of Cahill’s flameless heaters for the American Dream in the winter of 2018. It helped us power through winter construction with no issues. After calculating the loads, we ran a flexible duct with a 3″ crosshair. The flexible duct against the outer wall was hot, warming the cold outer exterior walls, which were a very large surface area that would transmit cold into the building. The building was nice and warm for the winter. Hands down, Cahill offers the best heating solutions for big construction jobs. The diesel burns with the highest efficiency with no fouling gases.
